Heaven on earth - Golden Temple

The Golden Temple in the city of Amritsar is one of the major metropolises of the Sikh religion. The Golden Temple is a sacred sanctum. All the gold and exquisite marble work was done under the patronage of our respectable leader, Ranjit Singh, Maharaja of the Sikh Kingdom of Punjab. Everyone is warmly welcomed here, irrespective of religion, color, caste, or race.

The restrictions that, however, prevail are that the person entering the Gurudwara must be a non-alcoholic, a pure vegetarian, and free of all sorts of addictions or drug habits.

The Golden Temple is among the most notorious lodestones of Punjab and is a must-visit tourist destination in Punjab. The holiest sanctum of the Sikh faith is also deified by people exercising other persuasions. The tabernacle is beautiful, with a subcaste of gold plating covering the utmost of it. This is what gives it its name, the Golden Temple. It also has a brilliant radiance of glow in the summer sun.

Surrounding this temple is a wide yet tender pool of water that gives a cool breeze and peace to the visitors. If you are looking for inner peace and calmness, this place will give you everything you’re looking for.

The morning and evening prayers held in the temple daily arouse a deep sense of harmoniousness in the heart. Near this breath-taking temple are some of the best hotels in Beas that you can stay in for as long as you want and explore Amritsar.

This Gurudwara is made in the sacred memories of Shree Guru Tegh Bahadur ji.

Followers of Shree Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji meditate here 20 times a day. A special place where he used to meditate and worship is reserved by his disciples. He used to meditate there for hours before the eighth Sikh Guru,' Guru Hari Krishna' ji, handed over the Gurugaddi to him and named all his followers' Baba Bakala'.

Jallian wala Bagh

Jallian Wala Bagh is a popular place near the Golden Temple. This place is famous for an unfortunate tragedy that happened decades ago when a mass killing was done by Britishers. It became the burial ground for thousands of innocent people, including women and children.

These two major destinations make Amritsar a tourist destination. A large number of people visit Amritsar every year to experience the divine bliss of the atmosphere in the Golden Temple, shop in the local markets, go sightseeing, and have a taste of the delicious cuisine served only in Punjab. The most wonderful aspect of this place is the warmth and hospitality of the people. This also gets reflected in the hospices and deaneries spread across the megacity, which provide a good, comfortable place to stay and succulent food to go with it.
